How much paid advertising costs in Uzbekistan and how to plan the budget
"How much do paid ads cost?" is the question business owners ask most. The honest answer: there is no single price. But once you know what the budget consists of and how to calculate it for your business, you can say exactly how much to invest.
What the costs consist of
Many people only ask about the specialist's fee, but the total cost has three parts:
| Cost | What you pay for | Paid to |
|---|---|---|
| Ad budget | Showing ads to people | Meta, Google or TikTok directly |
| Specialist or agency fee | Strategy, setup, optimisation, reporting | The specialist or agency |
| Content | Video, photo, design, editing | Videographer, designer or agency |
Keep the ad budget and the fee separate: a good specialist decides how to spend the budget but does not replace it.
How to calculate the ad budget
Start not with "how much money do I have" but with "how many customers do I need". You need four numbers:
- New customers needed per month.
- Lead-to-sale conversion — how many out of 10 leads buy.
- Expected cost per lead (CPL) — from your experience or a test.
- Average order value — how much one customer brings.
The formula is simple:
Ad budget = customers needed ÷ conversion × cost per lead
Example (illustrative numbers): a furniture store needs 20 new buyers a month, 2 out of 10 leads buy (20%), and the test CPL was $3. That means 20 ÷ 0.2 = 100 leads, and 100 × $3 = $300 of ad budget. With a $400 average order, those $300 bring $8,000 in sales — a calculation that immediately shows whether to scale.
We explain how to calculate and lower CPL in our CPL guide.
What affects cost per lead
The same budget gives very different results in different businesses. The main factors:
- Industry and competition. Real estate, education and healthcare have more competition for impressions, so leads can cost more.
- Product price. People think longer about expensive products — leads cost more, but each sale earns more.
- Geography. Tashkent only versus the whole country changes audience size and price.
- Creative quality. A strong video and a clear offer can change CPL several times over.
- Season. Impressions get more expensive before holidays and in seasonal peaks.
Can you start with a minimal budget?
Yes, but the test needs enough data. On a tiny budget the algorithm does not have time to learn and you cannot draw conclusions. A practical rule: in the test phase, let each creative or audience collect at least a few dozen results (clicks, messages or leads) before adding budget to the winners.
How specialist fees are structured
There are three common models:
- Fixed monthly fee — a set amount per project.
- Percentage of ad spend — the fee grows as the budget grows.
- Hybrid — a base fee plus a bonus for results.
Whatever the model, clarify what you pay for: how many campaigns, who makes the creatives and how often you get a report. Our article on choosing a specialist lists 9 questions to ask.
How to keep spending under control
- Have your own access to the ad account — it should belong to your business.
- Get a monthly report with spend, number of leads and CPL.
- Mark leads in a CRM or spreadsheet: which ones became sales.
- Compare results against sales, not just numbers in the ad account.
Conclusion
The cost of paid ads is the sum of the ad budget, the specialist's fee and content. When you calculate the budget from the customers you need, conversion and CPL, advertising stops being an expense and becomes a predictable investment. At Level Marketing we run this calculation with every client after the brief and state the expected cost per lead up front.
