New Year content plan: 8 weeks from November to January

In Uzbekistan, New Year is the season of gifts, festive dastarkhan tables and end-of-year shopping. Many businesses remember it on December 25 and rush out a "Big sale!" post. In this article we build a New Year content plan week by week, from early November to mid-January: what to post and when, when to announce the offer, and how to keep the audience after the holidays.

Why you need a New Year content plan in advance

Why you need a New Year content plan in advance

In December people are ready to buy, but they see dozens of offers, not just yours. Many brands advertise at the same time, so auction competition grows and ads can get more expensive — although that doesn't happen automatically every year (Jon Loomer's analysis). That's why December is won by the business that warmed up its audience in November.

Planning ahead gives you three things:

  • A warm audience. People who saw your content in November are cheaper to bring back in December with retargeting.
  • Ready creatives. Shooting, editing and design are done calmly and well, not at the last minute.
  • A calm warehouse and team. You know in advance what will sell when, and the sales team is ready for the rush.

First, answer 4 questions

Before writing any posts, put these on one sheet of paper:

  1. What are we selling? The 3–5 products or services people ask for most before the holiday. For a furniture store, a living-room table and chairs; for a training center, January groups; for a clinic, a gift certificate.
  2. Who are we selling to? Someone buying for themselves, or someone buying a gift. These are two different messages: "get your home ready for the holiday" and "what to give your mom".
  3. What's the offer? It doesn't have to be a discount. A bundle, gift wrapping, fast delivery, a certificate or "book now for January" are offers too. How to build a strong one: see our article on the unique selling proposition.
  4. Until when are we open? Announce your schedule early. In 2026, Thursday December 31 is a day off: for a five-day week, the Saturday December 12 rest day was moved to it (decree text on yuz.uz). Early-January days off are usually announced by a separate decree in late December, so keep an eye out for it.

An 8-week New Year content plan

The table below is a starting point. Shift the dates to fit your business.

WeekDates (approx.)GoalWhat to post
1Nov 2–8Open the topicPoll "What are your New Year plans?", collect customer questions
2Nov 9–15ValueGift-choosing tips, "how to choose" posts
3Nov 16–22Warm-upProcess, behind-the-scenes Reels, new collection
4Nov 23–29Build anticipation"Coming soon" Stories, countdown, sign-up for the offer (Telegram bot or Direct)
5Nov 30 – Dec 6Announce the offerOffer post, "gifts by budget" carousel, launch ads
6Dec 7–13ProofReviews, UGC videos, before/after
7Dec 14–24Peak salesDaily Stories, "delivery until…" reminders, fast replies
8Dec 25 – Jan 10Final days and thanks"Last 3 days", greetings, year in review, January offer

Weeks 1–3: give value before you sell

You don't need to sell hard in November. People are looking for ideas, so give them ideas:

  • Curated carousels like "5 gifts for a colleague under 300,000 soums".
  • "How to choose a table for the holiday dastarkhan" for a furniture store.
  • "Starting a course in January: which group fits you" for a training center.
  • Behind the scenes: wrapping, the warehouse, the workshop, how the team is getting ready.

People save and share posts like these, which is a good signal for the algorithm. More in our article on how the Instagram algorithm works.

Weeks 4–5: announce the offer

Don't open the offer cold; build anticipation first. Three or four days before, post "coming soon" Stories, a countdown sticker and a "message us to hear first" call. Everyone who messages you is a ready warm list.

The offer post should be one specific sentence: what, on what terms, until when. Not "Huge discounts!" but "Free gift wrapping and delivery with any living-room set — until December 20".

Weeks 6–7: proof and speed

In mid-December people hesitate: "should I buy here?" Reviews, customer videos and live Stories like "we shipped 12 orders today" build trust (use your own real number).

In these weeks, reply speed matters more than content. Answer Direct and Telegram messages within minutes, or people will buy from a competitor. Why it matters so much: see lead response time.

Week 8: final days and after the holiday

After December 25, "last chance" messages work: "delivery until December 29", "you can still buy a certificate today". December 31 and January 1 are for greetings and thanks, not selling.

In early January many businesses go quiet. Instead, post a year-in-review (what we did, what we learned) and a January offer: new groups for training centers, "new year, new habit" for clinics.

Ready ideas for each format

Ready ideas for each format

FormatIdea
ReelsGift wrapping in 15 seconds; "3 gifts, 3 budgets"
CarouselGifts by budget; "Getting ready for New Year" checklist
Stories"Which one?" poll, countdown, delivery deadline reminder
Telegram channelEarly access for subscribers only, short gift tips
Live streamNew collection showcase and Q&A

Ideas for the first seconds of a Reel: see Reels hooks.

Illustrative example: a furniture store in Tashkent announces a "free gift wrapping with a living-room set" offer on November 30. In the three weeks before, it posts a "how to choose a table for the holiday dastarkhan" carousel and workshop Reels, and in December it shows retargeting ads to people who watched them.

5 New Year content mistakes

  1. Discount posts only. A "−20%" post every day wears people out. Rotate value, proof and the offer.
  2. Starting late. Content that starts on December 20 has no time to warm anyone up.
  3. One message for everyone. People buying for themselves and people buying gifts need different posts.
  4. Silence on delivery and hours. Customers ask "will it arrive before the holiday?" Answer in Stories and Highlights in advance.
  5. Forgetting advertising rules. If you send your offer by SMS, check the new requirements: see SMS advertising rules in Uzbekistan.
Next seasons: Ramadan and Navruz

Next seasons: Ramadan and Navruz

Once your New Year plan is ready, plan the next seasons the same way: value and warm-up first, then the offer, then proof and thanks.

  • Ramadan. In 2026, Ramadan began on February 19 (kun.uz). The lunar year is about 11 days shorter than the solar year, so Ramadan 2027 is expected in early February; the exact date is announced by the Muslim Board. Content about iftars, charity and family values fits this time; avoid jokey, loud ads.
  • Navruz. March 21 is a fixed date. Spring, renewal and the family table are the themes; start preparing in late February.

Put all seasons into one annual plan and give each a budget — how to do that: see planning a marketing budget.

Questions and answers

When should New Year content start? In early November. The first weeks are for value and warm-up; the offer comes in late November or early December.

Can a New Year offer work without a discount? Yes. Gift wrapping, a bundle, fast delivery, a gift certificate or "book now for January" often work better than a discount and protect your margin.

How many posts a day do I need in December? For the feed, 3–5 posts or Reels a week is enough. Most of the activity is in Stories: every day during the peak weeks of December.

When should I scale up ads? From the week you announce the offer. Bring back people who saw your content in November with retargeting in December; it pays off better than starting from a cold audience in the most expensive period.

What should I post after the holiday? A year in review, a thank-you and a January offer. In early January, when competitors are quiet, your posts get seen more.

Conclusion

A New Year content plan isn't one discount post in December; it's an 8-week chain from November to January: value, warm-up, offer, proof and thanks. Fill in the table today and prepare creatives in November, so that in December all that's left is selling and replying fast.

Level Marketing plans clients' seasonal campaigns in the same order: content plan and creatives first, then ads and a weekly report.
